Bath Aqua Glass’s Architectural and stained glass designer Themis Mikellides invites you to the launch of their contemporary art-glass windows at London’s Grand Design show this May. This launch showcases ‘state of the art’ double & triple glazing that include photographic screen-printed images that are projected from one face of glass onto the next and create a three dimensional interactive image.
These units can be used to create stunning interior screens & architectural windows for public art or obscuring a grim outlook. Featured at E61of the ‘Design Arcade’ is a sample that shows off its potential by giving the viewer the experience of woodland.
Essential viewing
Up until now, with the exception of glass sculpture, experiencing three-dimensional glass art has only been possible by visiting ‘art installations’.
Now developed into contemporary architectural glass, it is offered with a bespoke design service.

From an early age Themis has been inspired by his father Byron Mikellides an international pioneer in the field of Architectural Psychology. This exposure to the world of architectural psychology, and international colour conferences, has given him an intuitive and scientific background to his use of colour in his architectural stained glass. He has recently completed an MA in Glass and continues to research and develop the marriage of art and technology.
As a founder member of Bath Aqua Glass Themis has undertaken commissioned works including pieces for public art projects in municipality buildings, schools & hospitals, reflective windows for worship, domestic sites and gallery orientated wall art. Themis is frequently commissioned for public and private works both in England and abroad. Recent international commissions range from medieval windows for a private chapel in Port Harcourt, Nigeria to contemporary windows for Washington and Alaska.
